7-12 April 2008 Ankara	Meeting Participation in the international academic meeting “Think Tank- Turkey Dialogue: Peace Civilisations” organised by Turkish-Asian Center for Strategic Studies (TASAM).
20-22 April 2008 Ankara	Conference The visit of Didier Billion, Vice Chairman of the Institute for International Relations and Strategy (IRIS), to Turkey upon the invitation of SAM (Center for Strategic Research) and Conference delivered by Didier Bilon at Ankara University.
23-27 April 2008 Tekirdağ	Congress Participation in TASAM’s “International Balkan Congress: Interaction Between Balkan Nations” by Bulent Karadeniz, Acting Chairman of SAM, as moderator of the session titled “Identity and Nationalism in the Balcans”.
13-15 April 2008, Rome	Forum Assistant Professor Erel Tellal’s (Ankara University, Faculty of Political Science) and Member of Parliament Yaşar Yakış’s participation on behalf of SAM in the ‘4th Europe-Russia Forum’ organised in Rome.
5 May 2008	Meeting Briefing on Turkish Foreign Policy to a 22 member delegation of Pakistan National Defence Institute at SAM.
19-22 May 2008	Meeting Participation in the plenary session of the Regional Cooperation Network. This network, initiated in NESA (Near East and South Asia Strategic Research Center), as part of the US Department of Defense, comprises think tanks operating in NESA geography.
20-28 June 2008	Meeting Meeting of Professor Alon Ben-Meir, lecturer at New York University Global Affairs Center with officials of our Ministry, upon the invitation of SAM and his participation in several think tanks’ meetings in Ankara.

ITA-TURK Forum organised by SAM and Unicredit Group with the participation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Ali Babacan and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy Franco Frattini as well as politicians, journalists, academicians and businessmen from both sides.
11 November 2008Bangkok	Conference Assistant Proffesor Çağrı Erhan’s participation on behalf of SAM in the Conference held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand in honor of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Turkey and Thailand.
